Did they need a plow to cut through the foam
Best wishes to them on attracting more rail customers.

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
Yes
Well, the majority of people out to see the move were well over the age of 50, so the foam wasn't bad at all.

I did not know there were so many railfans in the area.

That will likely be the case for the foreseeable future.

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
A really neat video from Chris Thompson, with excellent drone skills to show railroading from a different angle. Looked like a couple of young railfans in the cab of the loco when they were coupling to the 4 hoppers-- something not seen that often in this day and age. Wish much success to this new railroad in the future!!!

One of a few shots that I got from the first run.

J T - Great shot. This was taken from very near the site of my great grandfather's sawmill, from over 100 years ago. I've got a soft spot in my heart for this place.
Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
Thanks, Bob. I think I've seen a photo or two with the saw mill by the trestle. Too bad it's not still there!Bob Drenten wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 1:56 pmJ T - Great shot. Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
On 6/11/22 I caught my first glimpse of the new Hamilton Northwestern at the grade crossing in Fillmore. I also watched another motorist (dumb @ss) come to a complete stop at the grade crossing and then decided he couldn’t wait 60 seconds for the train to pass and crossed right in front of the train.
Very friendly crew and I must say for as ratty looking is that engine was they did a very nice job on the patch out. Train information can be found in the Shortline TLU section.

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
Are they keeping the power in Hamilton? I'll be out that way next weekend and would like to get some photos for PM Tracks.
'probably wander out to 64th Street, too, to see whether anything's left of the caboose out there (PM A566) after the deal with Chris Cook ended sadly.

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
Unless the caboose was moved, I doubt it's visible this time of the year with all the foliage. You are talking about the caboose on the old interurban ROW, correct?fmilhaupt wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 9:53 amAre they keeping the power in Hamilton? The HNW power will reside in Hamilton.
