HESR 2145 & HESR 3045
HESR 2145 & HESR 3045
I'm trying to fill in some blanks about these two locomotives on both the Railroadfan Wiki and RR Picture Archives. Does anyone know the hertiage or serial numbers of either locomotive? These two locomotives are the only two HESR lettered locomotives in the RR Picture Archives database missing serial numbers.
2145 is an ex-NS/SOU high hood.
3045 is likely ex-CN and not an original ISRR GP40. However, sources disagree on this.

I believe 3045 is of NS descent because NS had a yard sale with their 40’s and G&W (if I remember correctly) picked some up… but don’t quote me

Re: HESR 2145 & HESR 3045
According to Wiki 2145 is an ex-NS unit that has its nose chopped and 3045 is a GP40 ex-ISRR/CN reassigned to HESR in 2015 but left HESR in 2019 for OTVR.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

3045 is one of the ISRR GP40s that spent a few years on the HESR. They're both on the OTVR in Canada now.

3044 & 3045 are in Minnesota. OTVR is former Great Northern rails.

Re: HESR 2145 & HESR 3045
looking at past rosters of the ISRR, Its safe to assume that the 3045 is former CSX, not CN. all the GP40's ISRR had were rebuilt from former csx GP40's and lost their dynamics in the process. see below replies
