I heard that a State of Michigan Historical Market was erected last Saturday at the point where the
Ann Arbor line crossed the Pere Marquette. Is that
correct? Does anyone have any pictures of the celebration linked to the erection of that historical marker?

It's too bad that the diamond still exists here, but no depot. Meanwhile, the union depot is down the tracks at Kaleva, but the track is all gone. Not really too bad....kind of cool that the diamond was "found"....Maybe the Kaleva depot needs a historical marker, too! It sounds like the Thompsonville diamond was cast off into the weeds when it was removed, was later located, and brought back to a point near the actual site. The Interlochen article was very informative with good photos, but the last quote was funny: “That steel diamond is the last remaining bit of the Thompsonville Junction Era,” says Krause. “There's no more rail cars or rail lines.”
