Where Is It?
Re: Where Is It?
I'll throw out one more, this time something a little less generic looking. To get started, this was once upon a time New York Central trackage, and under Penn Central was part of the Detroit Division.

Is this near Rockwood?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
Re: Where Is It?
Not Rockwood, head north. This location was near an interlocking tower.

Re: Where Is It?
Seems about right, DaveO. South of Carleton, there used to be a siding at Maybee, further south a long storage track, and another siding just north of Diann. Not sure if any of them are left now.DaveO wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:38 pmabout here? https://www.google.com/maps/@42.0300518 ... 384!8i8192C&O Dispatcher wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:31 pmProbably close to where northbound DT&I trains were "on the bell" when I worked at Carleton tower.

Re: Where Is It?
Yes, indeed its S Elm Street crossing with the former NYC Mackinaw Branch, now LI RR, south off the former GTW RR main line, now CN. Final run of the remaining old NYC RR passenger train between Detroit and Bay City with stops in Lapeer, was made on March 19, 1964.redlodger wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 5:38 pmBingo! Where be it? It's some industry for AARR's enjoyment. This is a google street view image.

Re: Where Is It?
Like minds think alike I guess, even though I haven't met you...
Anyway, this one might be tough, but let's hope Michael doesn't have this photo already. I'm standing the ROW, tracks have since been removed. Tracks run northeast to southwest, and they run from the bottom of the photo to off frame to the left. We're looking at a baseball field that's now being overtaken by grass, and the park is barely still called a park.

I guess we will need hints. Is this in the greater Grand Rapids area?

Re: Where Is It?
No hints needed Michael - Standard Railfan nailed it. I played baseball there back in the day, and a good friend's old house is in the distance, Josh Tuma.
