Saw a post in the chatbox saying "Aw man, Landon canceled the Holland meet up in May, again", but when I check the Facebook event, it says that it's supposed to happen at 10am on Monday June 10th 2024. Which is true? https://www.facebook.com/events/1290296 ... discussion
Can't say a meet at 10am on a weekday when most folk are working is usually the best time for a meetup...

I mean, 10 AM on a weekday is perfect time for a literal child who is on Summer Vacation.

Right, 10am is probably perfect for him and any other kid who lives in Holland or has a parent that can drive them over for a morning of watching choo choos. Most others though, isn't the greatest timing for availability.

Excellent planning. Superb. Perfect time for trains and not too early for people who don't like early mornings (like me).
interested in trains

Hello GRHC here even though I am not RailFan Landon‘s unofficial self appointed Internet/RailRoadFan.com legal counsel I will issue a statement on his behalf as well as mine at this time. I would like to point out that it was MuskegonRailfanning and Andy24 that planned and promoted the 2023 event.(see attached documentation below) Last year‘s meet was limp at best for various reasons and with that being said responsibility for what I like to call the limp meet of 2023 should be solely placed in their hands and not my imaginary self appointed clients. Due to prior obligations and the fact that I have absolutely no interest in this event I for one will not be attending RailFan Landon‘s 2024 meet if indeed there is one.

Holland railfan meet! Come and enjoy, snacks. Drinks, and so on! Come and have fun! Start time is whenever, come and go as you please! Me and my friend Andy24 will be hosting this meet together, make sure to bring sunscreen, and I hope to see you there! :D

Hope Landon gets some turnout for his monday morning meet, and that he attends this time. GP30M4216 went to the last Landon meet and was the only attendee, besides those birds :)

Yes, it was my intention to meet up in Holland last year, but due to conflicting schedules with each other, none of us showed up.

It is also true most students are out for the summer and therefore a great time for meetup

If you want to see nothing but trains, go hang out somewhere around Chicago near BRC Clearing Yard.

Someone who’s friendly needs to talk to him because I know the issue has been reported to CSX investigators on more than one occasion. Not to be “that guy” but screwing around near tracks, let alone ON them, is never a good idea unless you really want to meet our CSX cops.

Some of those kids have already been visited by CSX. There are snapchats of them climbing on BNSF power at Wells, standing on the nose of an engine in Waverly, and hanging off the sides of coal gons.

What’s considered not illegal to do if someone wants photos of the engines by the Waverly Yard or West Olive plant?

It’s pretty simple don’t go on property that’s clearly posted no trespassing. If you can get a photo or video of an engine or anything else rail related and not trespass then you’re good.

Note: I do know the antics of some of the younger railfans in the area have definitely gotten under the skin of the local crews. In some cases they have not only been reported to CSX personnel responsible for security of the railroad but also to local law-enforcement officials.
CSXT8390 occasionally I do run into Railfan Landon and I will pass the message along on your behalf to him as well as his adult guardian that accompanies him.

You can’t. Engines parked in Waverly yard are not viewable from public property, so you simply cannot.

Power at West Olive can be seen from the overpass, but Consumer’s might talk to you if you stop on the bridge.
