PEQ Reject - Appeal Rejected
PEQ Reject - Appeal Rejected
Really thought I had something here, but I guess not: http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject. ... =480734439
Ah well, I still like it. I thought it could be pretty popular on there.

Meh, just not a big fan of it, without the clouds and the blown out moon I might think more of it. Still nice enough though!

Maybe if you could actually tell it's a moon. I'm not a fan either.

I can understand the moon part, but why not the clouds? IMO, those make the shot.MagnumForce wrote:Meh, just not a big fan of it, without the clouds and the blown out moon I might think more of it. Still nice enough though!

The clouds make it look blown out.

Flickr far surpasses RRpicture Archives, just sayin'. Flickr is a Bentley, why trade it for a Hyundai?

Re: PEQ Reject - Appeal Rejected
I can honestly say I have never perused RR Picture Archives unless I do a google search on an engine and that happens to be what pops up.
I don't feel the need to wade through all the junk to find the tiny percentage of good photos on there.
Flickr is generally self moderated, the people who upload there don't tend to upload any crap at all.

No RRPA for me, I'm much happier with Flickr.

Railroad Picture Archives is great for organizing photos. I can look up my shots by locomotive type, railroad, engine number, train symbol, date, and location. That's what I use it for. In research for modeling projects and just digging up locomotive info it's probably the best place out there. If you want to view pictures more along the lines of "railroad photography", Flickr is probably the better choice. As I'm much more interested in the trains themselves than the actual pictures, Flickr doesn't do much for me.

Re: PEQ Reject - Appeal Rejected
I would tend to agree with that. As a railroad photographer first and a railfan second Flickr is the cats meow for me.
Re: PEQ Reject - Appeal Rejected
...and it works well for that. Different uses for different people and that's why it's relatively popular. However I'm in the group that only ends up there if someone links a shot or a "google search" takes me there - I never "start" looking for anything there. A year or two ago I figured I'd make an effort to try to use it to scout locations in a town I wanted to visit. After wasting an hour or two wading through a couple hundred absolutely crappy shots - most taken from pretty much the same spot - I had exhausted everything rrpa had to offer and had nothing to show for it. I got more out of spending 10 min. looking over Bing maps. FWIW if you properly describe & tag your shots on Flickr they're just as "searchable" as rrpa or rp.net.Conrail Jon wrote:Railroad Picture Archives is great for organizing photos. Don't you only get a certain amount of space free before you have to pay?

From what I understand, only the last 200 pictures that you upload to Flickr will remain visible, but if you pay, people(yourself included) can go back and view your older photos.Y@ wrote:YES!JUST AARON wrote:Is Flicker Free?
