CSX Train Location Updates - April 2023

20:47 - U303-29 westbound thru EE Trowbridge, 2428 solo leading 36 covered hoppers. DD at CH 79.9 reported 150 axles. 2428, despite being cab-forward westbound, had no flashing front ditchlights, instead, the rear ditchlights were flashing away against the first car. WAS EE Trowbridge (next to Mt Hope Rd.) has had a burnt out second aspect all week, crews hardly seem to mind. Vinnie and I had speculated that U303 (among completing other work that L305 skipped this week) had to clear out the plant at Webberville for G804.

R598-28 @ 05:49 westward reported by the DD mp CG44.2 in Pearl, Mi with 544 axles. BNSF engine #6403 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #8563 & CSX engines #3209 + #3289. He went into Grand Jct Siding mp CG54 & tied down.

M327-30 @ 05:23 Grand Rapids, Mi job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engine #871 + mid? dpu CSX engine #835 & 80 cars (54 loads + 26 empties) @ 7,828 tons & 4,532 feet. Lately, the crew has been saying "DP, yes" whereas in the past they were stating the DPU's position in their train. So, at this time I'm just speculating the DPU's position being a mid. He's still building his train at this time.

CSX G804 is currently sitting in the beck road siding facing west for Webbervile. Leading is CSX #980 and trailing is CSX #5264 both elephant style. Crew is on board.

The crew may have been on board on this G804-26 train, but not the crew that took it to Webberville. The crew that did, did not spin one of the units around at Plymouth before leaving like the last crew did on a grain empty with two forward facing units, so somebody wil have to something before the load leaves eastward, unless they run them long end forward which has been done before. Train was spotted at Webberville prior to 04:00.

Not 90 cars for MQT right now. This is the first half. After dropping in Wyoming they’ll go north to get the other half.

Z151-30 @ 14:34 at Plaster Creek mp CGT2.0 headed back north to their railroad with engine MQT #3391 leading to pick up the remaining grain cars & had told Rouge tower it may be 3 to 4 hours before they return to Grand Rapids.
