Thanks AANR! Nice that you caught the Anniversary unit 393!
Thanks for all the reports and videos. It's nice you video the whole train and get many different angles, levels and perspectives!

Leaving Cadillac for Clare at 1035. Didn't stick around to see them return.
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: December 2019
Usually they block the empty center beams ahead of the tie loads but today it's the other way
Lots of tank cars of empty propane and loads of whatever is shipped from Kalkaska

That struck me as odd also. Unless there wasn't any empty gons to pick up.AARR wrote:Usually they block the empty center beams ahead of the tie loads but today it's the other way

Unless things have changed they both are serviced from the same spur but the ties are at the end so they go in first

Two different sidings. Ties are on west end of McBain, siding has two tracks at Vikings Yard.
For a short time they were loading woodchips on the tie track closer to the main then the tie unloading area.
Then another siding where they unload poles and load lumber closer to McBain.
Would be on lower right in above photo.
and YES, thank you AANscaleRunner for your reports.

I'll keep the reports coming as long as I keep seeing them run. I'm lucky as Cobb St is the first stop on my mail route. There was talk of extending the spur farther into Biewer Sawmill to allow more centerbeams. Haven't heard anything as of late.

Assuming northbound out of Cadillac today. I've seen or heard nothing on the south side of town.
Edit: Heard them on the north end of town at 1445. Maybe only went as far as Kalkaska today.
