Southbound North of the Muskegon River at Newago
Re: Where Is It?
Yes. The photo comes from a postcard titled "Entering Newaygo Michigan". Southbound the track would parallel Penoyer Creek and cross the road, perhaps Front St back in 1910.Steamlogger wrote:Southbound North of the Muskegon River at Newago
At more modern view from the opposite side of the track.

Indeed, it's Bridge Street, just west off of M-37/M-82 in Newaygo. Face northeast. Bridge Street was part of the old route. It's next to Sand Mold Systems on the left, not visible. Final run of the remaining former C&O railway passenger train nos. 25/26 between GR and Traverse City with stops at Newaygo, was made on October 29, 1966.Standard Railfan wrote:Newaygo, Bridge St. (the old route) facing Northeast next to Sand Mold SystemsPatAzo wrote:

Leaman Place Strasburg 90
Re: Where Is It?
Very good. The 90 running around it's train at Leaman Place. The 611 was in the siding next to us and would pull ahead for 90 to get around it's train, then back in the clear so the 90 could head west. 611 followed the 90 out to do some photo run by's. The 90, 475 and 611 were all running this past weekend. 611 is at Strasburg the next three weekends.DaveO wrote:Leaman Place Strasburg 90

Indeed, that's Leaman Place in Paradise, PA midway between Harrisburg and Philadelphia It is also located on the NS/Amtrak Keystone Service Line as well as on US-30 Lincoln Hwy. US-30/Lincoln Hwy. over the Amtrak Keystone service Line in the above shot. Also the route of the Amtrak train nos. 43/42 the Pennsylvanian, between NYC and Pittsburgh, PA. It is at the northeast end of the Strasburg RR.PatAzo wrote:Very good. The 90 running around it's train at Leaman Place. Definitely Piqua, Ohio on the former Pennsylvania RR ROW with old US-25 behind the picture taker's current position. Great Miami River can be seen in the shot above.'AARR wrote:Piqua OH?~Z~ wrote:Where be it? Not in Michigan. Bridge I'm standing on is the former railline:

I'm wondering how they got away with no ADA access on that end.
While the structure is historic, the access by stairs isn't.

Piqua indeed. For the stairs, at least they had a small groove in the middle of the stairs which made it a lot easier to walk my bike up.DaveO wrote:For the win.
