Priority on MQT shouldn't be an issue, as there are only a few rock trains and a tri-weekly passenger train in the summer, along with the local freights.YpsiAmtrakBoy wrote:Sounds fine, but trains have to be top priority on MQT too. and we can interchange other traffic in Grayling as wellMQT3001 wrote: Okay, but we want 25% of the profit. You own roughly half the track, but do the whole crew run. We also would own the terminal in Mackinac. In essence, we own 25% of the capital, so we want 25% of the profit

We have a wreck...GR&P train hit a semi loaded with fruit in Michigan City. Police and Fire at Scene, train crew okay. Semi is completely destroyed, Leading unit has some new scrach-on paint and a sizeable dent on the snowplow, and a new fruity smell....otherwise okay, operating condition. Train was an Eastbound Manifest.

Re: Marquette Rail
Police have quickly determined that the driver was drunk...driver has been taken to jail. Over a dozen witnesses, all with the same story: He simply plowed through the gates and got hit. Thereby, the investigation is over, and no more truck is in front of the loco (its all over the ROW though), and an inspection done on the train (with the help of some maintainers), has cleared the train to go. Reduced speed to 15 MPH effective until midnight to clear up the wreck...stay tuned....MQT3001 wrote:We have a wreck...GR&P train hit a semi loaded with fruit in Michigan City. Re: Marquette Rail
Could the Marquette Rail run some windmill trains up to Saginaw for the GR&P to take to the thumb, or let the GR&P run the trains and pay for trackage rights on your line until the windmill project in the Bad Axe area is finished?

MQT Locomotive Update 4-19-12
Upgraded:
#3 (SW9): New MQT paint
#2038 (GP40-3): New MQT Paint
New Storage:
#2039 (GP40-3): In Wyoming for Paint
#2040 (GP40-3): In Wyoming for Paint
The shop crews will be finishing up repainting the ex LSRC units two at a time. Then, they will have both main overhaul/paint stalls open for upgrades to -3 status. After #2040, there are 6 units including GP40X #2046 to get new paint. Then, crews will upgrade one GP35 every two days, because the upgrades will take 2 days, and only one at any givin time because the second overhaul stall will be used as a staging area

Re: Marquette Rail
Sorry, I forgot to mention where they would be coming from. They would come into Toledo, and be taken north to Saginaw, and then to the Bad Axe area. CSX, LSRC, and HESR did that a few times last year.

Re: Marquette Rail
Padnos Announced that it would be doubling it's capactiy at it's North GR facility. We are currenlty in negotiations to set a new contract, and they will likely get a lower rate because of the volume. If it turns out, look for switches at the plant every day!
