Cement Post
What is this? Spotted along the ROW, seems to have a M or sideways 3 on it. Has an eye bolt at the top. Quite a few holes drilled through it as well. Old milemarker that had the number plate taken off?

Re: Cement Post
Looks a lot like the posts often used to mount electric boxes. More permanent and sturdy than a wooden post.

Where is it?

Along the old NYC right of way in Byron Center? Support for a phone box or support from something to do with rr highway crossing apparatus.

It's just south of 76th st along GDLK near Byron Center. Could be a phone support stand maybe.

Re: Cement Post
Interesting find. Concrete posts were not a “standard” on the PRR, most of the drawings I have seen specify a wrought iron post.
I wonder if the post may have been installed during WW2 when steel was in short supply.

Just south of 76th was the Block Limit Station called KARL. (For Carlisle). They had signage and a phone box there.
