I thought this would be easy, but by the time I cropped it down enough to meet the size requirement, I'm not so sure...

You didn't want to just click to resize the photo instead of cropping it then?GreatLakesRailfan wrote:I thought this would be easy, but by the time I cropped it down enough to meet the size requirement, I'm not so sure...

Re: Where Is It?
I'm posting from my phone, which doesn't have the capability to resize images like my computer does. The only option I had to get the file size down was to crop the image. It'll just add to the challenge, I guess.~Z~ wrote:You didn't want to just click to resize the photo instead of cropping it then?GreatLakesRailfan wrote:I thought this would be easy, but by the time I cropped it down enough to meet the size requirement, I'm not so sure...
Rodney, this was not taken near Yale- the one in Michigan or the "education" institution of the same name.

No. It's not in Sanilac, St. Clair or Huron counties. Bonus hint: it's not on Oakland county either.

The ballast looks to be in good condition, so maybe a line that was taken care of till recently removed from service.

I see tall trees, hills, and grass. Too nice to be the scrubby bushy look of the UP.Michael wrote:It looks like the abandoned (or railbanked) part of the ELS around Rockland. Up in the UP
Re: Where Is It?
And I don't think E&LS's tracks are ballasted that nicely either. But, Michael is pretty good at guessing so maybe he's right.

Re: Where Is It?
Sorry guys, I was a little tied up yesterday... As far as I know, the track was removed from this location and won't be going back in. It's in the lower peninsula, and the objects on the hill in the distance may be a clue where this was taken.
Thanks for blowing up the shot, Pixl. It's not always easy for me to post shots from my phone.

ARR, please note the Cold Water and Sturgeon are incorrectly spell. Correct spelling Coldwater and Sturgis.

Cass County? Isn't that in Indiana? It's not from Indiana.
Sorry Michael, it's not Rockland. SD80MAC or Trainwatcher should know where this is.
