I would guess that the Johnston/Solberg rally car is crossing the railroad tracks in Michigan's upper peninsula, somewhere near Munising.

Is indeed somewhere in the UP, and the rally car is a good hint as to where in the UP this crossing is.

Believe you are indeed correct DaveO. I didn't have the exact crossing, but believed it to be next to Frost, so that looks right. There's the annual rally going on this weekend in the UP; perhaps someone will get another shot of the cars flying over the crossing.

I don't know where that is, but that is a lot of cool stuff in that picture. That searchlight mast has got to be almost 40ft tall! All those switch lamps. I love pictures like this.

Very good. Kalamazoo heading west. They have turned off the main and would be going to the old freight house across from the depot of the South Haven Branch. My bet based on the number of cars is out the South Haven Branch.
