Dearborn Stamping gets a lot of rail business. Inbound and outbound.

I don't know what Dearborn Diversified is. The assembly plant perhaps?

Sterling Axle gets tank cars and ships out scrap. I don't know if any axles go out by rail anymore.

Yes, northeast side of K'zoo, once home to very large paper manufacturing business
(and big rail customers), think this maybe the last of them. Most other facilities have been torn down already. Too bad.

This plant makes food wrapping paper. The only rail activity is a covered hopper of resin once a week or so. Everything else comes and goes by truck. Very sad it is closing

That'll be the end of over a mile of the ex NYC from Graphic Packaging northward, including a long trestle over the Kalamazoo River

That would be GP-Epic at 400 Island Ave. in Parchment. Served by the Grand Elk Railroad. You can see a covered hopper there in the satellite photo below.

Forest River Manufacturing a builder of Travel trailers and pop-up tent campers is building a $7 million plant in White Pigeon. They will employ 396 people. I don't know if they will receive direct rail service but they will get a lot of lumber and other materials from somewhere.

North Star Milling in Decatur expanded their yard recently. The village closed the eastern most crossing on the Michigan high speed line to let North Star extend 2 tracks another 1/2 mile to the east. This will now double their car storage capacity.

Does anyone know if the Epic plant has closed for good yet? When it does happen, it'll be a sad day for Railroad History. That was the last industry located in Parchment and the furthest north section of remaining track on that line. I expect it'll shortly be cut back to Mosel Ave. unless someone has plans for that place which call for rail.

The only rail traffic to the Epic plant was an occasional covered hopper of resin.

This was from a crains newstory in May, but I have more freedom to post now..so..A Flex N Gate plant is being built in the Georgia Avenue area near the Coleman Young Airport, the GM Poletown Plant and the Conrail Shared Assets.

In the past couple of years leading right up to now..Some possible rail customers have turned up in Flint and have located near the area where Buick City once stood. Now one business American Pipe is using rail...Another business has popped up in the area and that is C3 Venture a manufacturer of plastic automotive parts...They could be another possible rail customer.

I know CSX brings in steel products of some type to American Spiral and Pipe....C3 though is a longshot....It will located on RJ Cole Blvd facing I475 in an old Dow Plant or is it Dupont? The end or whats left of the Buick City yard tracks are across the street and a bit of a distance from the plant.

By chance I was into the Lansing Reith Riley plant doing some contract work. I ended up working on the new railroad grade they're building through their property for the oil place next door. I took a couple pictures of the grade but idk how to post them on here. If anyone could help me with that or would post them for me if I emailed them to you please let me know. I'd love to share what I got with everyone. My guess is they plan on starting to use that spur for next season. It'll probably be a bit before its done. There's still no ballast or ties or anything around.

What line is Reith Riley located on?
