New Metra Strategic Plan

Metra has developed a new 5 year plan that addresses ridership changes based on the impact of the pandemic.
Most importantly in my opinion, they're looking to transfer to a more regional rail style service than traditional commuter rail. This is in response to a faster recovery in off-peak, reverse-peak and weekend ridership. Likely due to the increase in people who can now work from home. This means more frequent service throughout the day in both directions as opposed to rush hour direction having a bunch of trains and only a few trains off-peak.
