Marquette Rail has returned to Comstock Park. With a short train. By the speed it looks like they will stop to switch here.

The Otsego cars were still in Plainwell yesterday afternoon, so I don't think they sneaked through at night.

9/03/2023 @ 14:09 The Hamilton Northwestern was inactive. Engines GLLX #1397 + GLLX #1416 we’re tied up inside the Hamilton Michigan Endeavor facility. There are no rail cars inside the Endeavor facility in Hamilton Michigan or rail cars in the siding at Fillmore Michigan. Judging from the heavy rust on the rails and the tree down on the line it looks like the Hamilton Northwestern hasn’t seen any activity in quite some time.

Note: I traveled the entire line looking for any signs of work on a new transload yard and found none at this time.

Update: 09/07/2023 something is happening right next to the Hamilton Northwestern. Could this be a transload facility or a future rail served customer only time will tell.

There wasn’t anything moving in LSRC’s Graying Yard. Quite a few cars in the north yard but not many to the south. Got my first look at Aruaco. Boy is it massive. Couldn’t see the spurs. Also got my first look at the SRM spur extension where they can unload up to 20 cars at a time vs. five prior.

Grand Elk @ 7:16 pm southbound at 44th St with a visual confirmation of the train. WAMX #4125, WAMX #4225, WAMX #4206 and WAMX #3807 with 45 cars (lots of covered hoppers, boxcars, 1 NS butterdish coil car and few tankers)

Edit at 7:57pm: it was WAMX #4206 as the 3rd loco. Also, there was at least 3 crews on this train. WAMX #4225 had conductor + engineer and WAMX #4206 has one other person on the conductor side. WAMX #3807 had both windows down
