R598-30 @ 04:54 copied his EC1 to proceed westward from the power plant in West Olive, Mi mp CGP1.0 with BNSF engine #9324 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #9162 & BNSF engines #5950 + #9317. He’ll be going into Wells Siding mp CG41.4 & tie down.
M327-01 @ 04:59 Grand Rapids, Mi job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #490 + #4042 (elephant style) & ?? cars (?? loads + ?? empties). His radio call was badly broken up. He's building his train at this time.

L302-30 by Howell at 05:08 with 97 cars, 35 stone loads on the head. 502+335+8096 on the head end. 8096 was expected to be set off at Lansing but they were told to take the extra power to GRP. Train may be tied down at Fox Siding when they get there.

If #8096 is to return to Lansing, then I wonder if for whatever reason they didn't do it in Detroit, that they could intend to spin it in GR so that it's west-facing, since #5500 is already east-facing.
At least, last I knew 8096 was still east-facing. Despite it lead both L302 and L303, it was last part of L303 (September 24) and east-facing.

I'm wondering if the #8096 will be L301’s replacement engine? L301’s CSX #4384 had 2 traction motors (#3 & #5) cut out yesterday. The #5 traction motor was reported to have burnt up.

I had to google what railraod the PNLX is and had found it's the Precision Locomotive Leasing Company. Their #7471 is a former Western Maryland EMD SD35 engine still having the same number & colors as the WM on their web page. The #57 is the former MARC (Maryland Regional Commuter) EMD GP40WH-2 engine & still having the same MARC number & engine colors also shown on PNLX's web site.
There's a photo of the MARC #57 taken in Sept 1992 posted on rrpicturearchives.net that was taken in Odenton, Maryland on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor where at that time I was based with Amtrak.

Close. #7471 is an ex WM SD40. #57 has since been repainted into the Precision Locomotive orange/black scheme. Both units are going to Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso to power this year's North Pole Express.
