Heads up...

The next car or cars for L&W Supply, have been brought up to Hugart Yard on the Grand Elk, and are expected to be delivered sometime either tomorrow or Thursday. Highest probability is around Noon or anytime after into the evening. Keep a good listen for a horn on the Hastings Lead tomorrow or Thursday.

It is my understanding the usual schedule is for LSRC to switch Dow on 3rd shift. However, this is not the first time I've heard (or seen) them there on 1st shift.

Single car parked at L&W as of 10am Sunday morning. 2/3 way unloaded, so doubtful Monday daytime pickup by GDLK.

There is a short hopper parked by that concrete recycling place along Ann Street in the GRE yard. Are they starting to ship by rail possibly?

What concrete recycling place?

Along the north side of the GRE on Ann Street, just east of Alpine Avenue. It has been operating for about a year (Full Circle Recycle). Several big piles of crushed concrete that routinely blow across the street onto the used cars.

It is a Tazwell & Peroria hopper. It was with a inbound Standard load on the interchange track before being moved to the track next to the recycle yard. It's Dynamic Crushing - on the old Michigan Plating site. I wouldn't call them used cars across the street - it's more like a junk yard.

Per the previous car behavior, it appears that Grand Elk will not venture down the Hastings Lead unless there is a car to be delivered. Meaning that they will most likely not run solo to pick up an empty, it will sit until a load is brought to Hugart Yard.

From a family report up in Baldwin on the MQT today: Northbound train arrived at 1130hrs at the Baldwin Wye and proceeded to do quite a bit of switching on the Saginaw Sub side. Power was a matching orange lineup: 3407, 2041, 3389, 3408. 107 cars came north! A fuel truck also met them.

The car was released on 6/25 but wasn't waybilled until 7/5.
