Random: Can anyone elaborate on the origins of the “Sugar House” and it’s name?

The Sugarhouse Wye gets its name because it is adjacent to a small brown warehouse building that used to be owned by Edgar's Sugar House, Inc--the lettering can still be seen (very faintly) on the building. My understanding is that this was a prominent sugar company in the early 1900s.

L515 is working late these days. It's almost 9:00 PM and they are just now returning to the Holly Sub from the Mount Clemens Sub.

Today, L533 worked East Yard on its way back north to Port Huron, which I haven't noticed happen before.

Heads up to those in the Lansing area. You'll get a trio of westbound trains on the Flint Sub soon. It's 9:34 PM and the dispatcher is stopping L501, A451, and a manifest (probably 399 or 397) all between West Shaftsburg and East Shaftsburg in order to let Amtrak go EB on the siding (Main 1). After the Amtrak passes, all three will be heading west in short order. As the dispatcher put it, "We've got 27,000 feet of track to play with."

eb by 205 at 0745. Pretty long train, I only saw a single ns unit in the lead. In the middle it sounded like more power but when I looked out I didn't see anything but racks going by. Maybe it was in disguise

I photographed northbound train 384 at Mount Clemens tonight (MTM meet)! It was led by CN C44-9W #2595 and another "Widecab GE" (unsure of loco number) with 131 cars! It cleared Cass Ave. at 9:10 p.m.
