Amtrak is supposed to make a round trip and a half from Chicago to GR today.

Interesting... https://asm.transitdocs.com/train/2020/5/8/922 Shows this #922 train going chicago to grand rapids. Thx for the headsup! Train currently eastbound through New Buffalo.

I wonder the purpose? Crew qualification/re-qualification?

Edit: FWIW, I just tried booking a one-way St Joe-Chicago ticket, and Amtrak showed availability as of June 1. Could indicate restart of service. Or not.

P932 Amtrak extra departing the Grand Rapids platform at this time. They need to wye before continuing west.

Y106 westbound clear Thornapple. CSXT 4047.

Z151 dropped their 45 cars and is heading for 19 track to grab their outbound.

Q326 has CSXT 3332 leading. They were talking to RN about getting an EC-1 but don’t know where they are.

Earlier there was a 6-axle, 20’ callout from 44.2...wondering if there’s a single unit being added to Q326 at the Grandest of all Junctions, and they’re waiting there for this Amtrak to get by? Would make sense as that would have been a good meeting point had P932 not run into PTC issues back in GR.

Q326 is actually in the hole. Helpers are at Holland. Sounds like the plan is still TBD but I bet they have the Q326 crew take over the helpers and the helpers on the headend, so that as long as they summit before Q326 goes dead, they’ll make GR.

Hearing they are going to use just the CSX engine #3230 for DP due to some issue for DP with the CSX #3200.
