Still in Seaboard Paint!!

Unread post by BB »

For those interested in where the last Seaboard paint with yellow nose is, the CSXT 4601 is at Decatur Alabama today. Anyone know where the 2667 is :?: Have not seen the 2667 on the internet in awhile.

Seen that on the Shoreline Message board. Now only if it comes on over to this side of the state so I could get some pics. Only ones I have are rip-off shots.

CSXT 3112

Unread post by Eric Berger »

Is the 3112 still in Seaboard paint? Back in January, 1998, I was able to snap a picture of it as it crossed Bibbins St. in Romulus that morning; it was mostly in SBD paint, but the number was the blue on gray for CSX.

3112 and the B23-7 Class

Unread post by GP30M4216 »

Eric-
3112 was a member of a class of 45ish B23-7 locomotives on the CSXT, which came via the SBD System and purchased during the "Family Lines" Years. CSX began to retire them about 1993 or 1994, with the last few gone by the summer of 2001. Many units retained Seaboard and Family Lines paint, indeed most of the last still showed Family Lines colors and were a great way for railfans to see the image of that brief fallen flag. If the photo link works it is of the last B2307 I remember seeing, during the summer of 2000 at Plymouth. Chessie Chapter has more B23-7 photos as well as a B23-7 Locomotive Spotlight here:

Here's my best shot of the Seaboard. Took this with a Kodak disposable camera. Have another picture of it but it's pathetic.

Picture of the cool 2667 in Detroit 2-7-04. Currently shows being in Garrett IN as of 2-11-05. As long as it stays far away from the paint shop, right? Answer to that is right on.

Here's a post from Charles W that I'm moving to this thread:
"First, I think there is a thread for this somewhere, but I don't really hav time to find it at the moment. Second, I was told that the Seaboard unit was on a westbound this morning, seen in the Syracuse, NY area, for anyone interested. Granted, its probably been seen somewhere since, but one of the guys out here in Mass. (the Teen Association of Model Railroader's Winter Convention, held concurrent with the Big 'E' show in the Springfield area this weekend), mentioned tonight that he'd seen it today but didn't have a camera with him."

2667 is currently in Cumberland, MD. Probably for it's 92 day inspection.
4601 is currently in Georgia somewhere. Here's a recent picture: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... ?id=346736
