Rock Island Rail Overview
Rock Island Rail is a shortline railroad company currently operating two (soon to be three) railroads in Mississippi.
These include the Mississippi Delta Railroad, Great River Railroad, and Gulf & Ship Island Railroad (TBA).
Rock Island Rail was originally started in April 2019 to operate the virtually defunct Mississippi Delta Railroad. The company is attempting to revive the iconic Midwestern railroad, and plans to operate multiple shortline railroads in the coming years.
RI Interchanges with CN at Swan Lake, MS, CPKC at Gulfport, MS, and the Columbus & Greenville Railway at Metcalfe, MS.
