The Buckley Railroad History

The Buckley Railroad began running during the 1996 show. The first locomotive (Detroit Edison #207) was purchased around 1990 and the first 300 feet of track was laid in 1995.

Detroit Edison #207 was originally used to switch at Detroit Edison's Delray Power Plant. After being retired in the late 1950s/early 1960s, the locomotive was moved and displayed in Belleville Pointe Park in Belleville, Michigan. After years of neglect the locomotive proved to be a liability, and it was sold to the Buckley Engine Show. It took four years to bring her back into running condition.

Rolling stock from the defunct Alanson & Petoskey Railroad was later purchased, which included a Stillwell coach and two open air flatcars.

United States Ordinanace Dept. No. 7 was purchased in the late 1990s, and now serves as the main locomotive.
