D708 crossing WB at Trowbridge now. Picked up 58 from GLC today.
That was a very short lived D708 today
Efficient, not short lived. I bet the regular crew is going up north tonight so they hustled to get done.

Sounds like something blowing thru town right now, westbound, maybe the empty grain train that came from Toledo? Too loud to be GLC. 17:56.

There's a empty grainer en route to Grand Ledge ADM. 82/416 are the units. Was in Toledo at 1:30. So if we see one show up to Plymouth, this should be it.
By Howell at 18:10 on this Thursday afternoon. Running as V097-27 with 90 cars. G097 is now often a generic name for grain empties and loads when operated by a Lansing crew and not the name the traveled hundreds of miles to get to Plymouth. As I suspected, power was 82+417, not 82-416 because this was the power that went east and south on the last Grand Ledge grain train.

GLC Z62427 with 398 on the lead now on CSX setting off and picking up cars left by D708.

amessmann wrote D705 passed in Brighton about 25 minutes ago. 08:40.

That was D70627 not D705. Train had 87 cars east of Lansing. 901 leading 987 trailing D70527 went west through Howell at 04:12 with only 39 cars. 938 leading. Could not read the 2nd unit number. 6013 was trailing returning from its trip to Detroit on Thursday. What ever was back to back with 938 will be on the lead of D706 on Friday.
Thank you for this clarification, I had been searching the scanner archives for the wrong time frames in hopes of finding D705-27. The CSXT #938 has a terrible radio, not a single mile post call out was heard from him, nor, was the DD Report from mp CH104.3 heard. At 08:29 he was heard, in very low volume, calling out mile post CH137.

D705-27 was reported the DD mp CH126.3 @ 08:12 with 76 axles for the above power (including the 4 axle CSXT #6013) & 15 cars.

D705-27 @ 09:04 calls Rouge for yarding instructions: "leave the cars towards the east end of 35 & all 3 engines go to the Mouse".

I was hoping D705 would be asked for their fuel readings to learn what his 2nd engine # was, but, that didn't happen.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
