Hoping someone can help

I took this picture in Ludington, MI in 1980 of the two passenger cars, can anyone give me any details? I believe a local NRHS chapter was caring for them.

SG1 apparently became C&O 914130

Western Maryland 150 was also a steam generator car.
They needed it for their excursion trains because at that point their diesels were freight only models.

Your photo is apparently after their railroad use.
Interesting is that SG 1 which had become C&O 914130 has been numbered back to SG 1.

I believe those two cars were kept there beside the docks at Ludington to offer shoreside “power” for steam appliances on board while ferries were either laid up or docked for the winter season (since usually only one ferry ran during the winter in the final years of car ferry service).

I vaguely remember the western Maryland car and I’m sure the ex C&O troop car was also still there in the early 1990s on a family visit. I think they may have been pulled east a bit, away from the face of the dock, by that point. I’m not sure when both were removed from Ludington.

A friendly suggestion that you may get more input on this thread with a more informative subject. There are a few former C&O guys who do visit this board and might have some insights to share.
