Grand Rapids MC Roundhouse- Approx demolition date?

I have fuzzy memories from the late 1960s/early 1970s of my father driving me past the former Michigan Central roundhouse that used to stand facing Buchanan Street in Grand Rapids. It was north of Albany Street, but south of the Franklin Street overpass, across the street from what was then left of the former Ninth Street PM/C&O yard..

I'm curious as to approximately when the roundhouse was finally torn down.

The MC roundhouse sat on the east side of the yards south of Franklin St. It was raised in the late 80's IIRC.

Looking at historical aerial photographs, the roundhouse was present in 1972 but gone in 1981.

Thanks, guys!

Being gone by 1981 makes sense, because I started driving around 1982-83, and I was unable to find it then.

So this would’ve been where the Grooter’s Union Station industrial complex is now? I think Founders is currently leasing the northern part of it.

To the east of Union Station. Approximately where the driveway runs off of Buchanan between the big red building located on the Northwest corner of Buchanan and Canton and the BlueLix warehouse.
