Re: Where Is It?
Here's a good one: Out of state
Yes, that's an MBTA F40PH-2c leading a rail train with a NS GEVO behind it

Re: Where Is It?
I'm going with Shirley Massachusetts.
Per your Flickr caption:
Per your Flickr caption:
Here's a MBTA Extra Rail train with a MBTA F40PH-2C and a NS ES40DC on the point passing Shirley, MA's passenger depot. Obviously this lashup is nuts with a passenger engine leading a freight engine when normally it's the other way around.

Re: Where Is It?
Ok starting to narrow it down, somewhere in North/Central Oakland county or in the UP

Thou art correct. That was the midpoint of my ride from Byron Center a couple weeks ago; 60ish mile round trip.

Re: Where Is It?
Agreed! Thornapple Trail was the former ROW of the old NYC RR(ex MC) that ran between Jackson and Grand Rapids. Final run of the remaining passenger trains 388/389 with stops in Hastings and Middleville, was made on April 25, 1959.

Re: Where Is It?
Correct indeed! The old Santa Fe Railway depot in La Plata, MO, now the Amtrak depot where the Amtrak trains 3/4 between CHI and LAX make a regular stop. La Plata is between Kansas City, MO and Fort Madison, IA.

Correct! South Attleboro’s MBTA station, I at least didn’t have to get embarrassed by having someone get it right in one go

Re: Where Is It?
Well, I was correct on the first go.. giving the city and state of some out of state location was correct...so you are still 3 for 3 of getting it guessed right away on each posting.
BTW, i've never been to that city, nor heard of it or seen pictures from there before.

Re: Where Is It?
I would have guessed Mansfield, MA -- up the road a ways. I would have been incorrect!! I believe the Acela can run 150 MPH here.
