Someday you may understand what I'm talking about. My grand kids do not need to see this when we are out watching trains.

Interesting use of fonts. Uses the entire "canvas" effectively. Colors contrast yet compliment nicely. Creatures appear other worldly and creative. Well done. A solid 7. This is art.

To be fair, though, I very rarely see vulgarity graffiti. Also, I rarely see the railcar data painted out.

I've noticed that on newer-built cars in the last 10 years or so, the reporting marks are much higher up on the sides on the car body. While that might put them out of reach for most taggers, it makes them a lot harder to read from the ground!

Re: The Steel Wheels Art Gallery featuring railroad art/graffiti
These are two examples of what I understand is ‘railfan graffiti’, the deliberate touching-up of historic paint. The Ohio Central Super-7 got full Conrail Quality lettering on one side, and the Wheeling SD40-2 a touched-up (or repainted entirely?) GM logo like it wore as an EMD leaser. I cannot condone these activities, but I am happy when they wander in front of my camera

Re: The Steel Wheels Art Gallery featuring railroad art/graffiti
Like it or not, graffiti is as much a part of railroad culture as hobos and bib overalls. Monikers have been being scrawled on cabooses and freight cars for over 100 years now. The spray can thing really took off in the 90’s and with rolling stock being extremely bland these days it’s a welcome sight for me to see a really well done piece of art on an otherwise sterile all gray/red car.
I'm just here to put in time claims and complain
