If you're not on the tracks*, the train won't touch you. How hard can it be?
People shouldn't need fences to keep them off the tracks!
But blame the "big, bad, terrorizing railroad".
***unless it's derailed

Re: SPECIAL REPORT: DEATH ON THE RAILS~St. Louis, MO
I loved the irony of "REAPER" posting an article about "DEATH"
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Do they write articles that blame county road commissions when people walk out into traffic and get hit? Shouldn't all roads have fences along them to protect people from their own stupidity?
I've never understood how getting hit by a train is any different. If you make a bad decision and get injured or killed, it's ALL your fault.

More useless news reporting. No wonder I don't watch, read, or care what is in the news.
Re: SPECIAL REPORT: DEATH ON THE RAILS~St. Louis, MO
I love reading the comments people post with these stories.
Recently a boy was killed by an Amtrak train in Kirkwood, MO. Personally, I think the solution lies with Amtrak. Their trains are silent and incredibly fast. The trains need to move slower and with noise -- sirens, horns, or something similarly loud and obvious -- in inhabited areas, slow enough that pedestrians can sense them in time. Bright colors could help, too.

In that case, Cars should never exceed 20 mph, and must blast their horn every 25ft.

Same idiots that think traffic roundabouts and electric cars are dangerous because they are too quiet.GTW6401 wrote:I love reading the comments people post with these stories.

Re: SPECIAL REPORT: DEATH ON THE RAILS~St. Louis, MO
Yeah I saw their map showing "10 people killed on a single stretch of track" and then noticed the timeframe covered 16 years! ('96-12') My first thought was "gee, I wonder how many people died from auto accidents or drug overdoses, etc. in that same geographical area in the last 16 years. Bet there are a lot of causes with far higher death rates than trains!"J T wrote:Do they write articles that blame county road commissions when people walk out into traffic and get hit? Actually, at least 17 people died of heat related deaths in the St Louis area in 2012 alone:

I enjoyed some of the comments, too, but between the article itself and half of the comments, there are some really DUMB people. This news story is a great example of some of our socialist media.GTW6401 wrote:I love reading the comments people post with these stories.
