Mackinaw Bridge Construction and Ferry ID Help

Had some old film transferred to Video and dicovered the below.

Ferry/ship ID on the larger vessel any idea on a location? I thought somewhere in Detroit but not sure??

The passenger steamer is most likely the Greater Detroit. It was built in 1923 and srapped in 1956. The Detroit had a sister ship named Greater Buffalo that was also built in 1923 but was converted to a aircraft carrier in 1942 and renamed the USS Sable. It was used for training on Lake Michigan near Chicago. A third ship built in 1911 with a simular design was the City of Detroit III. It sailed until 1950. All three had the three stacks and had paddle wheel propulsion. Wikipedia has a pretty good write up on each of these ships. Hope this helps.

Someone on YouTube commented it was the City of Detroit III. Wish the film was clearer the name of the boat/ship is on the side I think right above the paddle wheel....
