Chasing Veteran CSX power on the Holly Subdivision!

I had received word around noon yesterday that a venerable CSX YN2 Dash 8 was going to be leading CN E251 along with some NS power. I obviously jumped at the chance to catch this old soldier, especially because I didn't have to drive all the way to Plymouth, and the closest spot on the Holly Subdivision is only 10 minutes away from me.

One of my railfan friends joined me at Charing Cross in Bloomfield Hills for the catch. Once the lead units went by however, I realized that this train would be chaseable if we left after the first few cars. We beat him up to Woodward Avenue in Pontiac with about 3 minutes to spare. I will say that the lighting was phenomenal in both Charing Cross and Pontiac, and the photos will be posted soon in the daily uploads thread, so keep an eye out for them!

We also caught Amtrak 355 blasting off out of Pontiac, with a nice crew.

Nice video, and nice catch with the Dash 8.
