Nice variety CD. Like the arches and the roadrailer subjects.

This is a great photo series! Love seeing the red cab on its daily B19 run, and the Annie at Milan. And the high hood and arches, and all of it! Thanks for sharing.

Do the Annie and NS still exchange auto parts boxcars at Milan yard?

Also, I love your reference to the “which way” switch. When I was very young, my dad worked in the Ford Glass building, which is the parking lot you were in from that photo. Those two tracks came together right behind and there used to be a type G signal back there for trains going around that when toward Wayne. I picked up a whole pile of discarded spikes once after they did some track work, they’re probably still in my parents garage someplace! Lol

I think box cars from the Dundee Engine Plant are interchanged with NS in Milan

That's good news. I wasn't sure if GEMA was still shipping or receiving product by rail, since aerial images make it look like there is some kind of tank car transload happening on that spur between the main line and the Azalia Road crossing. Good deal!

GP30, I understand the confusion but last I heard GEMA is switched 6x per week. Perhaps I heard wrong, or something changed :? .

As for the tank car business I think that is an oil product that came over from JAIL. Again, my information may be incorrect.

Switching GEMA and ARG (the tank car transload) was a pain in the a**. GEMA didn't want hazardous tank cars, loaded or empty, brought inside their fence. It was always necessary to set the tank cars over to the main, regardless if they needed a switch or not, to give GEMA their switch. GEMA was also specifying which boxcars they wanted at the time and we had them in storage at Diann. Switching four separate cars out of a cut with the interlocker was gross. Really had to get creative to ease the pain. We switched them 3-4x a week when I was there.
