Re: CSX Train Location Updates - December 2024
E800-06 @ 19:08 westward had sent an emergency transmission from Paw Paw Ave mp CG76.2 with BNSF engine #6363 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #5999. Conversation was broken up but did hear the Dispatcher asking if everyone was alright & saying he would contact people. Appears it was an incident at a Private Road crossing.

Someone on the Watervliet Facebook group reported “Horrible accident involving a family and a train in Coloma. 2 children involved. If you're the praying type please get to work.”Tom49801 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 7:15 pmE800-06 @ 19:08 westward had sent an emergency transmission from Paw Paw Ave mp CG76.2 with BNSF engine #6363 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #5999. I just got off 370 in St. Joe. The crew stopped short of the crossing; usually they make the station stop with the locomotive occupying the crossing. It would appear they intend to be there some time.Tom49801 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 9:07 pmAmtrak P370-07 @ 21:05 eastward reported by the Defect Detector mp CG91.9 St Joseph, Mi with 24 axles. IDTX engine #4617(?) & 5 cars. Stuck in St Joseph due to the E800-06 incident.
L302-07 @ 21:29 westward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH126.3 Clarksville, Mi with 312 axles. CSX engines #799 + #4715 & 75 cars. He had work in Lansing – final destination is Grand Rapids, Mi.
A friend who was also on the train and who lives over that way said she could not cross the tracks in Coloma and had to drive home via Watervliet.
Edit to add: another passenger on the train stated there was at least one fatality. I do not know where she got her information and cannot verify, but it does not sound good.
Another car v train
Per Facebook post, CSX E800 hit a vehicle tonight about 7:10. Sounds like 1 fatality. Occupants supposedly 3 children 1 adult. 1 child ejected. 1 person, likely the driver, was under the train and like that was the fatality. 3 transported, 1 transported priority one. , 2 non-priority.
Supposedly at a private crossing.

Also, this will probably delay M326-07?

Why did you post a duplicate of what I already posted?
Re: Fatal Car vs. Train near Coloma. 1 Killed.
Not exactly a duplicate.

Very vague.
Where did this happen? Was it at a private crossing or in a town? What direction was the train going? According to your post, based on E800's route and your details, this happened somewhere in Michigan between West Olive and New Buffalo.

Honestly it in a duplicate post. Your post had more details involved compared to ChapMaja.Jochs wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 1:28 amNot exactly a duplicate.

You could have added details to the original post rather than add a new post about the same accident.

Makes you wonder if they were wearing seatbelts or not with the one child being ejected and the adult ending up under the train…
Extremely unfortunate situation for all.

Does it really bother you THAT much that he repeated some of the same words? FFS.

FFS, really. it was a question. No need to get your panties in a bunch about it. It says people don't look before they post, then we have people like you that have to get involved a few days later.
Re: Fatal Car vs. Train near Coloma. 1 Killed.
Get over yourself. The amount of days that have gone by is irrelevant. I hadn't heard about the collision and Joch's post was informative about the location, which your post didn't include.
