For those who may not have heard, PM #1225 was put back on its wheels on Friday (Aug 11). It took a LOT of work from a number of dedicated people to achieve this major step in the running gear rebuild process. Much additional work needs to be done, but the plan is to have it in operation for North Pole Express 2023. Feel free to visit during our public hours (Friday & Saturday through the end of September, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm) to observe the continuing progress in returning #1225 to service, and the many other sights at SRI. For safety reasons, we do not permit visitors to tour the grounds without the escort of one of our tour guides, so please arrive before the last tour departs from our Welcome Center at 3:00 pm.
