For the last 10 days, it appears that IDTX 4629 has pulled P370/371 every other round trip. AMTK 53 had the alternate trips, until recently, when IDTX 4621 appeared.
Anybody know why? My wild guess theory is if two trains going opposite directions could swap locomotives, they wouldn't have to wye the trains every day in Chicago, gaining some efficiency.
For example, the locomotive off 371 (arrives CHI 9:08 am) would be pointing the right way to pull 393 to Carbondale at 4:05 pm.It would return a day later on 390 at 1:00pm, in time and pointing the right way to pull 370 at 6:30pm.

I captured AMTK 53 on the southbound Texas Eagle (23) on Sunday, January 22nd, shortly after it departed Bloomington, IL.
