Lake States passenger train in Gaylord

Unread post by GP-35 »

Did anyone catch the passenger train in Gaylord on the A&L spere? I believe it was a customer appreciation trip, it was there Wednesday and still there on Thursday.

I think JBaxter has it it correct. Lake State's. Because it is possessive in this case.

Where is JT and the rest of the grammar police when you need them

Then it should have included an apostrophe.

I’m not trying to be difficult, I just see a lot of people mistakenly call the LSRC the “Lake States” frequently.

All of this linguistic expertise makes sense since the railroad only runs in Michigan therefore is it just a single ‘state,’ there is no multiple about it!

Related question, Lsrc has assembled a pretty interesting OCS/passenger consist over the years. Does anyone have a roster of the whole passenger fleet and the heritage of each piece? Definitely something more unique among regionals!
