Paw Paw is not gonna happen. Lawrence however is part of the plan. If they rehab the crossing at Red Arrow Highway that will cost some $$$. Plus the ROW near Lawrence is still overgrown with weeds and bushes.

In the June 2022 issue of Trains magazine it states that the West Michigan railroad hopes to relay track eastward to directly serve industry. The railroad has stockpiled 9 miles of rail for it.
Would've been easier to restore it if they hadn't abandoned & torn it up in 2013. Is the stockpiled rail to restore that segment the same rail that was pulled up from that segment?? That might be a first!

No. It’s from CSX when they replaced rail on the main.

Correct, they got a pile of 122# rail and plates from the contractor scrapping out their rail upgrade project a couple years ago.

It's not the expensive to rent a mulching head for a skidsteer, there already a D6, off road truck and excavator at the transload in Hartford. Grading the grooming the row is minimal in comparison to the bridge and tie work.

I am not sure if this should be posted here or not so Z, please move if it shouldn’t be here.

I thought I would post this here since the article is about the Fruit Belt rail line that used the same tracks that are now being serviced by WMR in Hartford and soon to be Lawrence. I have driven the back way into Mattawan numerous times and have always wondered if the property that the power lines run through was an old railroad bed.
