Someone posted on the Michigan Railfans Facebook group:
“ I see a sign posted by the approach signal to the swing bridge for the Marquette Railway in Manistee. It reads “No six axle’s allowed “. Huh , why that all of a sudden appeared? Going to be rough to service the power, since the roundhouse is on the other side of the swing bridge, down by Mortan Salt .”
No one on Facebook has been able to give any additional info so far. Does anyone here know anything else? Is this new? I don’t know anything about the bridge except that it looks old and an embargo on six axle locomotives would be unsurprising. I don’t even know much about MQT operations up there and what power is typically used…
Manistee swing bridge
Re: Manistee swing bridge
Seems like 4-axle units work around Manistee but I think I recall pictures of 6-axle units in the yard.

Re: Manistee swing bridge
The sign is for the former PM yard east of the bridge, not the bridge itself.
