CN Flint Sub Defect Detectors Still Talking?

I haven't heard the defect detector on the CN Flint Subdivision that that I used to pick up all the time for a while now. It is located at mile post 308.3 (I think) on the Flint Sub, between Imlay City and Capac. I was wondering if anyone who railfans in this area of the Flint Sub knows if this detector has gone to talking on defect only. In fact I used to pick up a couple different detectors while driving around in that area of the Flint Sub, and now I don't pick up any. This is my first post on here, and I'm curious if anyone knows more about this. By the way, I have been scanning all the railroad channels, so I know I'm not missing the correct frequency. It used to be on the road channel 32.

There's two on either end of Imlay City. One near the Summer's Road Bridge on the West Side of town, and one on the East side near Capac. That being said, I've only ever heard regular communications from the Summer's Road one when I've been down there. I think the Eastern one is defects only.

I don’t hear the one west of Lapeer anymore either. With the signals at CN East Lapeer only alerting westbounds it’s hard to know when an eastbound is coming from Flint.

Maybe the defect detector is defective.

That'd be a job for the defect detector defect detector, aka a signal maintainer

Technicnaly the defect detector defect detector could be a train crew. The repair guy would be a maintainer. :D

AFAIK DDs are tested monthly by the signal department per FRA regulations.

All the Defect Detectors on the Flint sub and South Bend subs give both an entry and an exit message for every train
