Wyoming Yard Switcher Loco
I've been meaning to ask for a while:
What is that switcher locomotive back by the gravel pile for? How long has it been in Wyoming? What paint scheme is that? Any other info on it would be nice too

So does Conrad Yelvington own and operate the loco and/or tracks back there? And what model is that? SW9?

Ex A&N 710, an SW9. Conrad Yelvington operates it when they have a stone train to load. Every once in a while you used to see it up at the CSX diesel house getting worked on or inspected, but I haven't seen or heard of it being up there in a long time.

Speaking of this unit, what every happened the Miss Scarlett. Wasn't that the name of the GP-18 that was stored in Wyoming Yard and was used by the other stone yards (Lansing maybe). It was a privately owned loco IIRC.

Miss Scarlet is GLLX #921, owned by the same gentleman that owns the MQT SD40-2's and the ex GTW GP9's 4433 and 4428. #921 is still at the Conrad Yelvington yard in Lansing, loading stone trains whenever they come in.chapmaja wrote:Speaking of this unit, what every happened the Miss Scarlett. My son was picking up stone in Wyoming Yard this morning and managed to get a shot of SW9 Apalachicola Northern 710. He'll try to get a better view if he has any more pick ups.
