ex GTW caboose on Taos north of M-21 east of GR has been sold and is heading to Thompsonville. It was being loaded yesterday, not sure when it will move -anytime in the next week or so was the plan.

Rolling north on Woverine Blvd around 14 Mile at 2:40pm:)

Was down to the GTW Depot in Lansing yesterday and noticed that the GTW caboose 77005 has gone elsewhere along with the small crane. Anyone know where they went?

That caboose is at the Howell Depot Museum.

I have signed up to help with the restoration. Work starts April 9th.

I'm trying to track down a caboose reported as "wood or steel?, cupola? RR? #?, pool (pond?) house?, ~7300 Treat Highway near the junction with Codling Road, Jasper, MI". This location appears to be closer to Fairfield, MI, but both towns are quite small.

Any help will be appreciated, Roger

Hey Roger, do you have the GTW Caboose located near one of the boat channels in Monroe?

Hi TW,

I don't list any caboose in Monroe, MI.

Can you get get a better location for the car?

I assume it's a steel, cupola, GTW caboose, perhaps sitting on a section of track.

Thanks, Roger

Looks like the one that is (or was?) parked in the ex-NS Saginaw Yard up in Lansing. Not sure if it is still there or not... :?:

That's it , it was there a few weeks ago. Reportedly Allen Brown owns it and was going to move it to Walled Lake.

Yes, this Caboose is still in Saginaw Yard, I saw it yesterday. It has been moved away from the boxcar to the north about 50 - 100 yrds. The price seems a bit steep to me...

ATSF waycars to GTW cabooses

Unread post by caboose9 »

Hi,

I've made a substantial update to the listing of the ATSF waycars that became GTW cabooses posted in this thread on Sept. 6, 2010. There are new data and new questions, including the GTW number for a caboose in Monroe, MI.

All of the changes have been added to the Set. 6, 2010, posting.

Enjoy, Roger

The other caboose at the GTW Depot in Lansing, C&O 6257 has disappeared, anyone know where to? It was in very rough shape with no roof at all on the cupola.
