Re: Schoolcraft Trains
In addition to the Grand Elk Kalamazoo-Elkhart turn road freight. The 501 job works afternoons from Kalamazoo down to Bristol and back switching all the industries and the Michigan Southern interchange.
Schoolcraft is the west end of a long stretch of double track to the east on the CN. CN often organize meets here where and eastbound train will meet a westbound, or they will “fleet” two or more trains in the same direction one after the other. I think the CN local that works this stretch of the South Bend Sub also works afternooons. In my experience, you can have occasional trains, busier times, or a few dead hours. Good luck!
