This is a class II railroad jointly owned by CN, BNSF and CP. Most of the unit trains that run on MOM are run by Canadian National. MOM owns an extensive system in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Manitoba and Ontario. Its far eastern terminus is at Thunder Bay, ON where it interchanges with Canadian Pacific. The line then runs West past Ft. Francis and on into Minnesota and Manitoba to Winnipeg where it interchanges with the Greater Winnipeg Water District, Canadian National, Winnipeg Terminal, and Canadian Pacific. Back at Duluth Junction near Ft Francis, the line branches off into Minnesota interchanging with Minnesota, Dakota and Western near International Falls and Continuing south. It operates numerous Ore Lines in Minnesota and Runs to Duluth and into Wisconsin past Pokegama (Where a yard is located) and to Saunders Junction interchanging with Canadian National, BNSF and the Superior Area Terminal Railroad. Interchanges are also made with North Shore Minning, and BNSF. Most power is provided by CN or leased from Helm Leasing Company. MOM however owns a fleet of 10 SW1500s for switching and locals and 20 other locomotives of a varying model.
