The tracks to Purina are nearly complete. All tracks within the Purina plant have been completed, and the connection to the mainline is nearing completion as well.
The operational plan for the CBE will be as follows.
PEA-1 will operate from Newton Yard to Clare Yard, bringing all traffic from the east end of the railroad to Clare Yard. PEA-1 will also switch the transload facility in Clare Yard.
The crew will also be responsible for breaking down trains from the east end to the various interchange partners and breaking down inbound traffic for distribution to the east end customers.
PEA-2 will operate from Clare Yard to the railroads interchanges with the GLOR, CSX and NS in Cincinnati. In addition, PEA-2 will assist PEA-1 in breaking down trains from the east end to the various interchange partners and breaking down inbound traffic.
PEA-3 will operate from Newton Yard to the eastern end of the line, servicing customers except those served by PEA-4 or PEA-5.
PEA-4 will be the Batavia Yard Switcher / Local. They will provide service to Purina and other customers surrounding Batavia.
PEA-5 will be the Hanson's Stone Trains, running from the quarry to the transload facility.
The current plan for locomotive allocation will be as follows.
PEA-1 and PEA-2 will generally operate with with #'s 4030, 4035, 1590, and 1591 split between the two operations.
PEA-3 will operate with 4501 and 4504 operating the east end of the line.
