As of 16:00 Friday, the 54 northbound mixed freight cars were with BPRR 3345 south of the crossing at Nelson’s Farm MKT in Grant. On the north side of the crossing were the other 3 SD40-2s. The rest of the CSX grain train is staged at MAC in Newaygo in the yard.Andy24 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:31 amMarquette Rail reported 50 loaded grain cars of the 90 cars brought back to Wyoming Yard @ 11:31am. Re: Short Line Train Location Updates - November 2024
Are these CSX loads the return of G090? Or will that be brought down as one train?
Re: Short Line Train Location Updates - November 2024
Yes, these are the same cars from G090 (G126) that came to Grand Rapids last week ish.
Marquette Rail on Friday brought down 50 CSX grain loads of of the 90
Today was the remaining 40 CSX grain loads, with a total of 90 cars sitting for power to move them

Thank you Andy, hopefully that will come back my way tonight.
When you say "DPU's", were these manned helpers or DIT?Mikeyt2004 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 6:14 amMarquette @ 03:46 departing Baldwin. Cleared Jenks rd west for Walhalla with MQT~2041 MQT~3567 on the head end with mid “DPU’s” MQT~2040 MQT~2044 MQT~2042 (all yellow and non G&W) with 89 cars total.
Re: Short Line Train Location Updates - November 2024
You’re welcome . Hopefully M326 / L302 brings extra power for the loaded grain train. We will see what happens this week. The 90 CSX grain loads were spotted sitting in Wyoming Yard earlier today as I drove by the yard this morningamessmann wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 3:17 pmThank you Andy, hopefully that will come back my way tonight. When you say "DPU's", were these manned helpers or DIT?Mikeyt2004 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 6:14 amMarquette @ 03:46 departing Baldwin. I have not seen Marquette do “DPU” mode since all their power are SD/GP EMDs. I have seen Marquette pull 130-150 cars with just 3 EMDs going uphill

Re: Short Line Train Location Updates - November 2024
I was using DPU’s in parentheses because it wasn’t technically. They were manned and as mentioned they broke off the front engines and cars in Walhalla with either going to Luddington or Manistee. Used DPU more as an umbrella term though they were manned.amessmann wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 3:17 pmThank you Andy, hopefully that will come back my way tonight. When you say "DPU's", were these manned helpers or DIT?Mikeyt2004 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 6:14 amMarquette @ 03:46 departing Baldwin.
