It has come to my attention today that GLC now has a dispatcher contracting company doing their dispatching. When did this take effect? The CSX dispatcher can no longer get in touch with Owosso to put blockers in place for a train to pass across the diamond on red signals and will now have to flag the diamond at all times if the need arises, like they have always had to do in the past. Also, in the last several weeks trains on the south end from Owosso to Osmer, and perhaps on the north end as well, now has a female conductor. By voice and knowledge, she appears to be very good, and nice to hear on the radio. Am not sure when she was hired.

I heard that rumor to, I heard it’s due to them being contracted out due to them not “filling in spots” so starting Monday (4-1-24) they were contracted to some company in Wisconsin. This was all due to a new GM

Ya we will find out what’s true in the next few months. I’ve heard other rumors that the new GM, wants all the engines working by 2025, and possibly more weekend trains. But idk. We will find out what’s true and what’s not

The dispatching company is based in Vermont and this was in the works for quite some time. Apparently crews were cross-qualified to be on the dispatching desk as well. This frees up more crews to be on the train.

Today is day three for a new operations strategy. this is a test to see how it goes.

Today's "OSTN" was SB thru Durand at 09:03 with 383/396 and only cars for CSX. 12 loads from zfs on the head and then the rest is all empty tie gondolas from McBain. Gotta be at least 35 of the gondolas

GLC is installing a signalled crossing at US-131 and Shippy Road between Fife Lake and South Boardman. Makes sense considering the school on that road.
Consistently confused
