Green Oak DD at CH39.1 said 366 axles.

G126-19 “should” have CSX #3436 (solo) and 90 empty CSX marked grain cars. I saw a video on the train earlier on Michigan Railfans Group in FB.

The DD report equals 1-6 axle and 90 cars or 2 engines and 88 cars with a +2 axle error.

G792-23 @ 01:15 reported in the clear in Grand Ledge to allow L304-25 to work Grand Ledge having 15 to 20 cars to set off. G792 had already ran around his train & was waiting on L304 to finish their work & would then start backing his train into the Grain facility.

Note: this morning‘s train will be setting off 1 loaded center beam flat car for Zeeland lumber in Zeeland Michigan.
This morning‘s train also has 8 empty gondola cars in its consist and apparently will be shoving back to Holland and heading onto the Holland Michigan dock track.

He has work for Buzzi Cement mp CG5.2 & then he’ll go westward into Waverly mp CG22.8 & later westward to Hartford mp CG68.7 & will runaround his train at Kirk mp CG70.2 to head back east.

Do you ever see the huge 326s, or do you only ever comment on the abnormally small ones?

I grew up near Fargo, ND, where BNSF’s northern transcon mains cross. Dozens of trains a day and every one 100+ cars. Even the local shortline usually ran trains bigger than today’s 326. So I just find it comical that the flagship train for the GR sub is often so tiny.

I get it. We’re on a peninsula. It’s regional traffic only, and we’re at the tail end of decades of traffic attrition on the railroad. I want the GR sub to be successful and vibrant, so I guess I report tiny trains with a sigh and an eye roll because it’s a reminder that things are less than ideal.
