L304-31 @ 00:12 westward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH104.3 Mulliken, Mi with 16 axles. CSX engines #8095 + #4045 & 1 car. He had work for Lake Odessa mp CH120.4

R597-31 @ 00:46 westward reported by the Defect Detector mp CG44.2 Pearl, Mi with 544 axles. BNSF engine #8523 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF Executive engine #9826 & CSX engines #3293 + #3201. He had taken Grand Jct siding mp CG54 & tied down.

L304-31 @ 02:01 eastward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH104.3 Mulliken, Mi with 12 axles. CSX engines #4045 + #8095 lite power returning to Ensel/Lansing mp CH90.

C801-29 @ 02:58 eastward reported by the Defect Detector mp CG66.2 Hartford, Mi with 532 axles. BNSF engine #6199 & 130 loaded coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #6426.

C801-29 @ 03:06:03 eastward Bangor’s Division St crossing mp CG60.93 live cam. He’ll add CSX engines #3201 + #3293 behind his leader at Grand Jct mp CG54 & continue on to the power plant in West Olive, Mi.

Andy24 -CSX G790-XX passed the Princeton Cam at 8:56am
G790-28 with 91 cars for Webberville, had some slop freight added at Walbridge to bring up into Michigan.
B22226(31) was finally taken out of Plymouth to Walbridge, so the G790 will end up in the North Pass to wait for a GR crew.

C801-29 @ 04:06 copied their EC1 to depart Grand Jct mp CG54 & head east to the power plant in West Olive, Mi w/ BNSF engine #6199 & CSX engines #3201 + #3293 & 130 loaded coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #6426.

C801-29 @ 05:10 eastward Holland, Mi Depot mp CG25.3 with BNSF engine #6199 & CSX engines #3201 + #3293 & 130 loaded coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #6426. In about ½ mile he’ll diverge onto the west end of the Wye & onto the Fremont sub-division.

M327-01 @ 05:24 Grand Rapids, Mi job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #5309 + mid dpu CSX engine #7035 & 190 cars (91 loads + 99 empties) @ 15,420 tons & 11,115 feet long. He’s building his train. These engines are from M326-29 on Dec 29th.

M327-01 @ 06:43 westward reported from Ivanrest mp CG4.7 with an Approach Medium signal with CSX engine #5309 + mid dpu CSX engine #7035 & 190 cars (91 loads + 99 empties) @ 15,420 tons & 11,115 feet long. These engines are from M326-29 on Dec 29th.

L303-01 @ 10:55 heard talking to Rouge Tower to start building their train with CSX #5287 and CSX #521.

L302-01 between 14:20/14:44 Rougemere Yard/Detroit job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #3025 + #3399(?) & 47(?) cars (36? loads + 11? empties). He was building his train. A lot of static & poor quality, did hear the leading engine #, especially since the Dispatcher repeats it. If the car totals were heard correctly, the DD reports east of Lansing will report 200 axles.

A little excitement in Saint Joe a little after 5 pm… the Manitowac was coming in with a load of stone and one of its bow thrusters malfunctioned. The boat wound up pinned diagonally, with the bow against the seawall and the stern rubbing against the fenders of the Saint Joe Bridge. After about 20 minutes, they got things fixed and were underway.

From the radio traffic, it appears no damage was done to the bridge but it is unknown whether an inspection will be required before train traffic resumes.

The Bridge Mechanic was inspecting the bridge a bit ago. He didn’t see anything noteworthy at first glance, and gave the bridge tender the go ahead to close and lock the bridge. I haven’t heard a final verdict over the radio, but it seems like all will be ok.
