Something pretty interesting happened on the GR subdivision today. Per the Michigan Railfans facebook group, L301 and R597 ended up in the same siding (unclear as to which one) while waiting on M326 to pass.

I wonder how many sidings have coal trains in them right now, if they couldn’t get the light power and L301 in two separate sidings.

It is Hudsonville Siding. I was listening to scanners when all of this occurred. R597 made a joke to L301 saying “y’all need a tow”

R597-07 was CSX engines #3039 + #3380 lite power heading west to pick up loaded coal train C800-06 that had tied down around 2:00am this morning in Grand Junction siding mp CG54 & is the only loaded coal train on the property at this time.

L301 proceeded west to go into Waverly at mp CG22.8 and was reported by the DD at mp CG19.1 10 minutes after R597 was reported by that DD. It was an efficient move to place both R597 & L301 into the same siding since both were waiting on M326 to clear by so that they both could continue on westward.
