Amtrak 29 and 49 both on time out of Elkhart this morning westbound. 49 has a nice looking private varnish observation car on the tail painted in Illinois Central colors, but I believe the car is actually former C&O. Happy new year everyone!

Amtrak 355 has two Chargers running elephant style, departing Pontiac on time. No Venture coaches today.

Train 350 again had two Chargers, this time both on the headend and back to back. Passed MP 22.5 on the Holly at 2:15 pm. No Venture coaches.

As of 3p CT, there was a loaded AMTK Ballast Train in the siding at Porter on the Michigan Line.

It was also there on 12-31-2022 at about 10:00 AM as well. I forgot to mention that I noticed it.

And still there as of this afternoon. I was able to catch a glimpse of both ends today, to confirm that there is no power on it.

Looks like 352 hit a trespasser yesterday evening in Depot Town. Thinking of the family and crew.

350 had a Charger leading a Genesis back to back again today, #62 this time. Came into Pontiac around on time.

Is it me, or does it seem like the crews are happy to see that the P42's are back? People are getting tons of really nice hornshows from the crews that have been running the last few trains that have had the Genesis units on them.

Amtrak 350 had a single Charger as power today.

it’s possibly the same one that was parked between the Ford plant in Wayne for a good chunk of December

It mustn't have delayed 350 too much as it went past MP 22.5 just south of Pontiac pretty close to on time.

352 going into Chelsea siding to meet 355.

Amtrak 355 is about 50 minutes late departing Pontiac, passing MP 22.5 on the Holly at 6:20 pm.

350 had two locomotives back to back on the headend today, the trailing one a Charger (missed the first one). It was pretty much on time today.

Train 355, with one Charger, crawling past MP 22.5 at restricted speed for some reason at 5:44 pm. Maybe bad flashers/gates at Opdyke Road?

355 by Royal Oak right on time at 5:50, amfleet, horizon, two ventures and an amfleet for the consist. Thinking it was Buster Manning possibly for engineer tonight given that he's the only engineer that I know that shines flashlights out of the windshield for railfans.
